Notification of Executive Allowance for South Punjab Officers 2020

Decision regarding establishment of South Punjab Secretariat was decided during a meeting held on 5th September, 2020 under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister, Government of the Pakistan. The meeting was attended also attended by Foreing Minister Shah Mehnmood Qureshi, Chief Minister, Punjab Usman Buzdar, Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Punjab and Inspector General of Police. After due discussion regarding the subject matter and on the recommendations of the members of meeting it was unanimously decided to establish South Punjab Secretariat with immediate effect for the betterment of people and development of South Punjab. As per information provided by the Prime Minister Office, the main purpose of establishment of South Punjab Secretariat is to provide facilities to the people of South Punjab and focus on development and improvement of the area. Accordingly, notification was issued by the concerned authorities.

Later, Services and General Administration Department, Government of the Punjab posted several officer of different rank in the South Punjab. The officer working in the central Punjab are getting Executive Allowance @ 1.5 times of their basic pay. The officers were reluctant to join South Punjab Secretariat due to not being paid executive allowance. Notification of Executive Allowance for South Punjab has been issued and placed at the end of this posts in form of PDF.

However, the Cabinet Punjab during a meeting informed that Governor of the Punjab has been pleased to grant Secretariat Allowance with the terms and conditions similar to the prevailing of Executive Allowance @ 1.5 times of monthly basic pay with effect from the date of joining of officers working in South Punjab Secretariat posted and transferred by Services and General Administration Department, Govt. of the Punjab.  In accordance with the decision of Punjab Cabinet, Finance Department, Government of the Punjab issued notification of Executive Allowance for South Punjab. The officer working in the South Punjab Secretariat will get 1.5 times of basic pay as executive allowance / Secretariat Allowance from the date of joining of their duties.
